LOCKet jewels Commonly Asked Questions About Permanent Jewelry & More...

What is permanent jewelry?

Permanent jewelry includes custom-fit rings, bracelets, anklets, necklaces, hand and body chains and so much more. We micro-weld the jewelry to itself, giving you a timeless, seamless look without a clasp. It’s a quick, painless process with no maintenance required.

How long will my permanent jewelry last?

Your jewelry will stay on as long as you like! If you want to remove it, simply cut the chain and save it for re-welding in the future.

Does it hurt?

Not at all! The micro-welding process is painless and quick.

What materials do you use?

We offer sterling silver, gold filled, and luxe color enamel options. We continually add to our options and currently offer solid gold upon special order

What are the prices?

Prices range start from $75-$90 for sterling silver and gold filled. Luxe color enamel and solid 14k gold starts at $125+.

What if my chain breaks?

Permanent jewelry is custom-fit and should not break. If it does, save your chain, your first re-weld is always complimentary. If the chain is lost, a new one will need to be purchased.

How do I care for my jewelry?

Clean your jewelry with a soft cloth and mild soap. For deeper cleaning, soak in warm soapy water and gently scrub with an ultra-soft toothbrush. Dry thoroughly. We also recommend at an annual Deep Clean service with us at LOCKet jewels.

What if I change my mind after getting my jewelry custom fit & zapped?

All sales are final once the chain is cut and welded. We know you will LOVE your piece and recommend at least a week of wear to get used to your new jewelry. If you decide you would prefer the ability to take it off, you can chose to have a clasp added (with additional cost).

Do you offer non-permanent jewelry?

Yes! If you prefer removable jewelry, we can add a custom clasp to your piece, ensuring a perfect fit and allowing you to take it on and off as needed.

Can I travel with my permanent jewelry?

Yes, TSA doesn’t require removal of fine jewelry, so you can keep your permanent jewelry on during your travels.

Gold Filled ~ Frequently Asked Questions

Gold Filled FAQs

What is Gold Filled and why is it the next best thing to solid gold?

The answer is found simply in the word “Gold Filled”. Gold Filled is made from solid “gold” and “filled” with other alloys. Gold Filled wears like solid gold because its outer surface is solid gold. Electroplating is NOT a part of this process.

What are some of the advantages of Gold Filled?

Gold Filled has been referred to as the “Gold of the Future” because it offers all the same physical characteristics as solid gold such as beauty, durability, and strength, but at a fraction of the cost. Since the gold is on the outer surface area, it is nearly impossible to tell the difference between solid gold and Gold Filled, except when it comes to the cost!

How is Gold Filled made?

Gold Filled is made by fusing a layer of Karat Gold to a suitable supporting metal (or alloy) using equipment that carefully controls pressure, heat, and time. The bond produced is a permanent one.

How can I tell if it is genuine Gold Filled?

You can tell Gold Filled by the quality mark along with the manufacturer’s name and or Trademark on each piece. Gold Filled must have a layer of real gold, 10karat or better. The quality mark will identify its karat, for example, 14 karat Gold Filled may also be marked as 1/20 14K.
